OiTBC-MSMES Project - Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme

OiTBC-MSMES: Supporting micro and small businesses in Europe

About the project

OiTBC-MSMES is an innovative project funded by Erasmus+ Programmewith the aim of supporting micro and small businesses in Europe. These companies face significant challenges due to the new regulations introduced by the European Directive 2019/1023which defines rules for the preventive restructuring and debt reduction. The directive offers a unique opportunity for companies to reorganise their finances and avoid bankruptcy, promoting a sustainable recovery environment and encouraging a "second chance" culture.

The project OiTBC-MSMES aims to create a observatory dedicated to implementing the directive in the main EU countries, analysing the impact of this legislation on small businesses and promoting good business management practices. Our mission is to ensure that companies benefit as much as possible from the new rules, adapting to the changes efficiently and profitably.

Why is it important?

European Directive 2019/1023 was designed to harmonise the rules of restructuring and insolvency in EU member states, allowing companies in financial difficulty to find quick solutions to avoid bankruptcy. However, many micro and small businesses are not yet sufficiently informed about the opportunities this legislation offers to improve their management and guarantee their long-term sustainability. O OiTBC-MSMES aims to fill this knowledge gap by providing companies with the tools and information they need to navigate this new legal framework.

OiTBC-MSMES objectives

The project OiTBC-MSMES focuses on three main objectives:

  1. Inform micro and small businesses on the new rules introduced by European Directive 2019/1023.
  2. Support companies in adapting to regulatory changes, promoting a culture of prevention and effective reorganisation.
  3. Raising awareness the main players in the sector on the opportunities offered by the new legislation to improve management and business performance.

Project activities

Throughout OiTBC-MSMESWe have developed a series of initiatives to ensure that companies are fully prepared for the changes. These include:

Report on the Transposition of the Directive

The aim of this report was to analyse how Directive 2019/1023 was implemented in the various EU countries. Through this study, we have identified the best practices and the main challenges, offering small businesses a clear vision of how these changes can impact their reality.

SME survey

This survey sought to understand the level of knowledge of small businesses about the new rules. Based on the results, we were able to identify areas where we need to strengthen support and provide more training.

Documentation Platform

We have developed a online platform that gathers all the essential information about Directive 2019/1023. Here, companies can consult reports, guidelines and good practices to keep themselves up to date and well prepared for changes.

Virtual Seminar

The seminar was created to provide micro and small businesses with the tools they need to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the new legislation. It was an opportunity to discuss how to improve business management and closely monitor performance.
