World Bank approves 225 million for São Tomé and Príncipe
The World Bank has approved a new cooperation framework programme for São Tomé and Príncipe, which includes more than 10 projects worth 225 million dollars over the next five years, focusing on the energy crisis facing the country.
Juan Carlos Alvarez, the financial institution's representative for Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe, highlighted the importance of the programme, which covers various areas such as social protection, education, health, digital development, the environment, energy transition and infrastructure.
Gareth Guadalupe, São Tomé and Príncipe's Minister for Foreign Affairs, called the agreement an "important step" and emphasised the confidence of international partners in the country.
The Oporto Forte Group, with a presence on 4 continents and in more than 10 countries, including Africa, welcomes the World Bank's commitment to the sustainable development of São Tomé and Príncipe.
